Kyle T. Dowd practices in the firm's litigation department, where he focuses on Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution and Administrative Law, Regulatory & Government Affairs. He represents individuals, businesses, and government entities in civil and commercial disputes, personal injury and premises liability matters, and white collar criminal defense, in both state and federal court.
Kyle brings over 14 years of trial experience to the firm. Before entering private practice, he served for nearly ten years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City & County of Honolulu, where he tried dozens of jury and bench trials to verdict, most as sole counsel, including homicide and sexual assault cases. As a deputy prosecutor, he served as Team Captain in the Career Criminal Unit and in the Felony Trial Division.
Since entering private practice, Kyle has continued to try cases and litigate across a range of civil and criminal matters and administrative proceedings.
Kyle earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law, where he received multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, magna cum laude, from Hawaii Pacific University.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Hawaii and the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii.
